The Department of Pediatrics at the College of Medicine, Gharyan, aims to provide students with the best possible education and training methods in the field of pediatrics and child health. Empowering and assisting students in acquiring the necessary attitudes and abilities to be capable of discipline, ethics, and professional competence. Instill in them the safety and health of the child and to always put the child’s needs first. We are committed to providing the environment and clinical experience to obtain the best possible medical education. Faculty members, teaching assistants, and students work together through cooperation, scientific research, and practical practice.
Study, training and work last for 12 weeks in the department, where the student is trained in general principles of child health from birth until adolescence. All the skills related to pediatrics must be possessed by all doctors, and teamwork skills and professional behavior are emphasized as essential qualities for the development of young doctors. Students learn how to deal with sick children and their families of different ages to obtain their medical history and conduct the appropriate clinical examination. The training takes place in the Department of Children, Child Care, and Nursery at Gharyan Central Teaching Hospital, and attendance at daily lectures and discussions in the department with faculty members and teaching assistants.

Description
Gharyan College of Human Medicine was founded in the university year 1999-2000 and the Children's Department is one of the most important departments in the clinical phase with the internal and surgical departments and began the educational process in the university year 2004-2005.
The subject of pediatrics is studied in the clinical third phase in the fifth year, followed by supplementary training (excellence), including two months for pediatrics in one of the teaching hospitals. The Children's Section currently has 8 members of the staff faculty and 2 collaborating members. Teaching methods in the department include theoretical lessons and panel discussions as well as the clinical (practical) segment and the complexity of examinations in the subject of pediatrics in both theoretical and practical roles first and second.

Preparing scientifically and skillfully qualified doctors and providing knowledge through continuing medical education and scientific research in the field of children’s diseases and methods of preventing, diagnosing and treating them to improve children’s health and maintaining international standards in training to reach distinguished specialists in the field of pediatrics and neonatology
